XASTIR の Experimental な機能，APRS局の位置情報を SQL database に格納するために，指定のあった postGIS のインストールを行った。

各局の情報、"APRS-IS からのパケット"を独自に解析するより、XASTIR/SQL database から取り出す方が簡単だよね、多分。

• posgresql-server, 同devel のパッケージ・インストール
• http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/hamradio/ から openSUSE 10.2 用の Proj 4.5, 同devel のパッケージをインストール　
• http://geos.refractions.net/ から GEOS 3.0 を checkinstall
• http://postgis.refractions.net/ から postGIS 1.3.2 を checkinstall

Changes によると Tested with Postgresql 8.2 and postgis 1.2.1 とあるが大丈夫だろう。ちなみに openSUSE 10.2 の Postgresql は 8.1 だ。

PostGIS のインストールは終わったが，データベースは素人なんで動作確認はやっていない。XASTIR を configure して postGIS の拡張機能が有効になるのを確認しただけ。
